Fighting

  • According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, two people were killed and 15 were hurt in a massive Russian drone and missile attack in Kyiv, including a 12-year-old.
  • People had taken cover at a subway station in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district when a drone struck the entrance.
  • One of Russia’s biggest aerial assaults in a while was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force, which included 426 drones and 24 missiles.
  • 11 people, including a 5-year-old boy, were hurt in a Russian drone attack in the northeast of Sumy, according to Governor Oleh Hryhorov’s statement on Telegram.
  • 224 Russian drones and missiles were detained or jammed by the Ukrainian Air Force, according to the Air Force, and 203 of them vanished from radar.
  • 132 Ukrainian drones were downed on Monday, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
  • No injuries were reported when Yevgeny Balitsky, the governor of the Russian-occupied Zaporizhia region, reported that a kindergarten and a fire station were struck by Ukrainian drones in Berdyansk, the port city.

  • At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store stated to reporters that Norway is willing to contribute to funding the deployment of US Patriot missiles for Ukraine’s air defenses.
  • According to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the Netherlands will also contribute “substantially” to the delivery of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, according to the nation’s Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans.
  • Zelenskyy claimed on X that “a decision by French companies to begin manufacturing drones in Ukraine is highly valued.”
  • In a meeting with Western allies online, the country needed $6 billion to close this year’s defence procurement gap, according to the Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
  • The United Kingdom’s defense secretary, John Healey, and Boris Pistorius, Boris Pistorius, served as the leaders of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, which is comprised of senior military donors to Kyiv. Attended by NATO leader Mark Rutte and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

  • In his daily public address, Zelenskyy stated that additional details will be released on Tuesday and that new discussions between Russia and Ukraine will take place in Turkiye on Wednesday.
  • Speaking about the chances of a breakthrough with Kyiv and ending the war, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said to reporters earlier on Monday that “a lot of diplomatic work is still unfinished.”
  • In a surprise visit to Kyiv, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot emphasized France’s support for Ukraine.
  • According to allegations of spying for Russia, Ukraine’s security services detained an official from the country’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
  • After a row with Ukraine and its supporters, the Italian Royal Palace of Caserta canceled Valery Gergiev’s concert. Gergiev is a vocal supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
