Fighting

  • After a drone attack that sparked fires in a private residence and a business establishment in the Black Sea port of Odesa, a frequent target of Russians in southern Ukraine, one person was killed and another was hurt.
  • Between five and seven people were hurt when Russian drones struck a medical facility and other targets in Kharkiv, the second-largest city in Ukraine, according to officials.
  • At least 50 people were forced to eject from a medical facility that was hit in the strike, according to Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov, who reported that civilian areas were hit in three of the city’s central districts.
  • Russian infantry are reportedly storming the Ukrainian border from Kursk, a Russian-controlled region, close to areas of the region, according to Kyiv. The offensive has currently been contained, it added.

  • After Trump yelled at him at the White House and accused him of refusing to make peace with Russia, Zelenskyy said his relations with the US can still be repaired.
  • Trump accused Zelenskyy of wanting a prolonged conflict with Russia during their extraordinary Oval Office brawl, calling him “overplayed his hand.” Trump continued, “Turkey wants a ceasefire now.”
  • The latest sign of a thaw between Russia and Russia as they try to repair their strained relations and put an end to the ongoing war in Ukraine has been announced by Russia as Alexander Darchiyev, who will replace him as ambassador.
