A 27-year-old prince is getting married to his girlfriend while visiting Japan for a second wedding. His adoring father has revealed the lovely news.
Congratulations are in order for a prince and his new fiancée after he popped the question on a trip abroad.
Prince Johannes Oettingen-Wallerstein, an heir to one of the most established aristocratic houses in Germany, asked his girlfriend Luisa Textor to marry him while attending a family wedding in Japan.
In a stunning selfie shared as part of the announcement, Johannes, 27, gave Luisa, 25, a stunning triple sapphire ring and they couldn’t look happier. In the photo, the pair are all smiles together against a backdrop of stunning scenery.
Prince Carl Eugen zu Oettingen-Wallerstein, Johannes’ father, shared the happy news on social media. She suddenly says yes, the chuffed father wrote on Instagram. Our sons @johannesow and @luisatxt tied the knot in Kyoto.

He continued, “We are so incredibly happy for them both for their bravery, shared “yes,” and everything that lies ahead. Best wishes to both you. May life fulfill your wishes, and perhaps even make more. Hugs”!.
Although not a widely recognised royal, Johannes is a member of the House of Oettingen, a high-ranking noble family from Franconia and Swabia that governed various estates between the 12th century and the early 19th century, according to Tatler. He is the grandson of the current head of the dynasty, the Express reports.
The couple has not yet confirmed their wedding date. Prince Carl Eugen zu Oettingen-Wallerstein posted his son’s exciting engagement news on his own Instagram account, but it’s not clear whether the couple used it to their advantage on private social media.
“Congratulations to the entire family,” one wrote in one of the comments on Johannes dad’s post. “Congratulations to the lovely couple,” added a second.
Johannes and his new fiancée were in Japan for the wedding of the Prince’s maternal uncle, Prince Peter of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, who wed Yurina Hattori-Roche in a Shinto ceremony after also marrying at Schloss Sayn, Hello! Magazine reports.
The Prince’s doting father Carl got married to Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn from 1994, but they separated in 2006. They have two children, Johannes and his older sister, Princess Helena, 30.
