Real Housewives star Brandi Glanville spends $70K to rid her face of ‘Moroccan parasites’

As a result of her dealings with a peculiar health condition involving bugs, Brandi Glanville is having a difficult year ahead. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was diagnosed with stress-induced angioedema, which causes painful swelling, especially in her face.

She first started showing signs of these symptoms around October 2023 when she was rushed to the hospital after collapsing with her face and eyes. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress revealed that she had a potential parasite she may have contracted while speaking with Entertainment Tonight’s Brice Sander on Tuesday.

Brandi told Brice: “I’ve been on meds this whole year. I don’t socialize. I don’t go out and I’m just spending all of my money on trying to figure out what’s wrong with me, over $70, 000. Honestly, I have so many doctors and I’ve had so many tests … I did lab work for $10, 000. Every test I took was unremarkable. … They’re like, it could be a parasite that’s, you know, new”.

Speculating where she may have contracted the parasite, Brandi added: “I mean, we had food sitting out for hours on end and some of it was meat. In Morocco. I started having this speaking and swelling thing about six months after returning from filming in Morocco, which we are still trying to figure out.

The 52-year-old The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress took to social media earlier this week to share a troubling photo of herself while her ongoing health battle rages on. “What happened”? she wrote on X on Sunday.

“I wish I knew that I’ve spent almost every penny trying to figure out this,” said one hospital employee who has been in and out of the hospital for the past year. Some doctors claim that my face has a parasite that can jump around. Some say it’s stress induced edema. I personally say it’s Bravo”.

Glanville’s shocking photo of her changing face sparked fan concern. She didn’t detail her condition but simply captioned the snap, “Sick it”. Her supporters quickly flocked to her supporters as others expressed ideas for how the condition might develop.

“Is that filler migration”? one fan questioned, to which another responded, “No, it’s an immune response because she’s in poor health”. Another wrote, “Awwww brandi, I’m so sorry… you’ve had nothing but hardships… I’m praying for you…you’ll come back girl and smash it just watch.”

A fourth added: “Brandi, this just breaks my heart for you. I’ll definitely be keeping you in my prayers.. Love ya”. The reality ace previously attributed the swollen face to Bravo. Back in July, Brandi said she was “miserable and depressed” due to their ongoing legal drama.

Brandi claimed that her facial disfigurement was attributable to her former employer, the US TV network Bravo. During the summer, she took to X to announce that stress was causing havoc on her appearance. “This is why I’m miserable and depressed” she wrote, sharing a selfie of herself that showed her left cheek severely swollen and bruised.

“I won’t even share the picture of when it sinks in,” I said. You will die due to stress. How is your wealth? People, thank you Bravo, take good care of yourself. I couldn’t even work if I wanted to at this point”.

Brandi also revealed that she still watches The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills while speaking with Brice. She shared: “You know what? It’s garbage and yes, I am. It’s a train wreck you can’t stop watching. But it’s really sad TV. I’ve had a great 13-year run. It seems like it’s always when I’m on Bravo that it’s hard. There has been a lot of progress in the other ones, all of which have been very easy. So, going back to Bravo ruined my life”.
