After disliking his former team’s head coach Russell Martin earlier this year, Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin feels unfairly portrayed.
The Belgium international was dropped for crucial games as Rangers struggled, which drew fierce criticism from supporters as a result of speculation surrounding summer transfer deals.
Raskin acknowledges having doubts about his future with the Scottish Premiership club despite having 18 months to go on his contract.

“I can’t lie, that time was really challenging for me.” Whether it’s physically or mentally, I’m still trying to return to my best form. It hasn’t been particularly good. I didn’t enjoy every aspect of it. I’ve read a lot of incorrect information.
I had to be quiet and make an effort to resume playing and returning to the team’s services. I’m just trying to get better right away.
Raskin was removed from his Old Firm derby against Celtic by Martin, who claimed senior players supported the decision, and accused the Belgian of having his head turned by transfer rumors.
“I had a clear indication that my future was uncertain because it was in the past,” Raskin, who left Standard Liege in 2023, said.
We’re attempting to create something novel right now. I dislike being the drama’s headliner.
“I’m just trying my best to serve the club, help the team as much as I can, and do my best.” We can probably win tomorrow and get our first three points.
Raskin revealed that he would want Rangers to benefit if he left the club with his contract expiring in the summer of 2027.
He continued, “I’m very happy here.” We’re trying to create something positive with the addition of a new manager. I’m not making any decisions. I’m just waiting for someone to talk to me and try my hardest to help the club.
I want everyone to be happy and leave in a good way if I have to leave. Right now, it’s not dependent on me. Nothing on my side suggests that I’ll leave for free or anything. To be honest, I don’t want that.
