Radio star dies of cancer aged 44 leaving twin teens behind

Robin Ayers, a much-loved American radio personality, passed away at the age of 44 after revealing her battle with cancer.

Talk show host Smile confirmed the devastating news by confirming the passing of her dearly beloved colleague Robin Ayers on Thursday, December 5th, in a statement from KBLA Talk 1580.

“Robin was a bright light. Through the radio, you could hear her exuberant smile. We all respected her immense talent, loved her jovial spirit, celebrated her love of family, and honoured her faith in God”.

The broadcaster leaves behind her husband Rob, their two twin daughters Madison and Brooklyn, who just turned 18 this week. The sudden news has rocked the industry, with listeners and stars offering tributes.

Her boss described her as “a bright light.”

“Heart broken, I pray to see you again one day in the kingdom my sister. Rest peacefully”, wrote former SNL cast member Jay Pharaoh on social media.

Actress and singer-songwriter Christina Milian honoured the radio favourite, saying: “Robin.. thank you. Thank you for your smile, the laughter and the moments we shared. It doesn’t even feel right saying this, my heart is broken.

May Robbie, the Girls, and your entire family be strengthened by your love. You made it a point to realize your dreams in life. We’re all proud of you. You will be missed dearly and leave a lasting impression on us. Rest peacefully. “
