Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, will undergo surgery after a cycling accident on Friday.

His team claimed the 55-year-old, who helped the French club win their first Champions League title last year, broke his collarbone in the collision.

“The club expresses its full support for him and sincerely wishes him a speedy recovery.” In due course, PSG said, “Further updates will be shared.”

Luis Enrique was present as PSG defeated Toulouse 6-3 in Ligue 1 on August 30. Joao Neves, Portugal’s midfielder, scored a hat-trick in their final match before the international break.

Before they begin their Champions League defense against Atalanta in the league phase three days later, the Parisians will face Lens in their next league game on September 14.
