PSG cruise but Liverpool leave it late yet again, Bayern and Inter also win

In their opening match of the Champions League defense, Paris Saint-Germain roared to victory, and Liverpool added another late winner to its impressive season-opening run.

In stoppage time, Liverpool’s captain Virgil van Dijk soared to the score with a header to put his side into a 3-2 lead at Atletico Madrid, which had appeared to be going to be wasted after just six minutes.

To kick off their eight-game league-phase programs, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan both won rematches of previous finals against Chelsea and Ajax, respectively, while newcomers Bodo/Glimt and Pafos impressed with hard-earned draws on the road.

PSG won 4-0 at home against Atalanta, and Bradley Barcola’s penalty miss didn’t really matter much in the end.

Harry Kane scored two goals to give Bayern a 3-1 win over Chelsea, whose England teammate Cole Palmer had an impressive goal.

In a fitting comeback, Bayern lost to Chelsea in the 2012 final at home.

Marcus Thuram scored two powerful goals for Inter in its 2-0 victory over Ajax, which won the 1972 European Cup final against the Italians.

At Slavia Prague, Norway’s champion Bodo/Glimt was saved for a second-half penalty kick, leading to a 2-2 tie at the 90th minute when the team came out on top.

After playing with 10 men from the 26th minute, Pafos drew level with Olympiakos and finished with a goalless draw. Brazilian international midfielder Bruno Felipe was shown a second yellow card for a violation.
