
After suffering a thigh issue, Paris Saint-Germain announced on Friday that club captain Marquinhos has become one of the growing number of big-name absentees.
PSG announced on their website that the 31-year-old Brazilian defender would be receiving treatment for a left thigh injury over the next few weeks.
Joao Neves and Desire Doue, as well as recent Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, are both injured, and Luis Enrique’s side has suffered the most recent injury.

Marquinhos played the entirety of PSG’s last game, which ended with a 1-0 defeat to archrivals Marseille on Monday, in which case he added an own goal, but PSG did not specify when the center-half picked up the injury.
PSG did not respond right away when contacted by AFP.
Bradley Barcola, who had missed the team’s game against Marseille because of muscle fatigue in his thigh, was present at Friday’s training session ahead of PSG’s league game against Auxerre this weekend.
PSG travels to Lille for Ligue 1 action on October 5 before facing Barcelona at home on Wednesday for the Champions League.
