Governor Dauda Lawal has received praise from former president Olusegun Obasanjo for his outstanding accomplishments, highlighting the positive effects of his leadership in Zamfara State.
The former president inaugurated the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital and two significant roads in Zamfara State’s capital on Tuesday.
Sulaiman Bala Idris, the state’s representative, revealed in a statement that the renovated Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital had received an MRI and CT scan for the first time.
Former President Obasanjo pleaded with Governor Lawal to carry out his rescue mission until Zamfara, one of the nation’s leading states, was finished before the specialist hospital was put in operation.
The former president stated, “I am in Zamfara State today to see the newly improved, and improving Zamfara under your leadership.
“Here we are,” The health commissioner mentioned that you had an MRI and a CT scan, which both surprised me. Some teaching hospitals, as I am aware, don’t have CT scans and MRIs, and some do, have machines that aren’t even running. So there you have it, it’s functioning and providing services.
“It’s a great pleasure to be here, to commission this renovated and modern hospital for everyone’s well-being and welfare.”

Obasanjo claimed that Governor Lawal is modernizing Zamfara while constructing the Zannah Road to Abarma Road.

Governor Lawal thanked former governor Obasanjo for accepting the invitation to commission the state’s crucial projects in his address.

The Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital has expanded and renewed. There have been constructed brand-new facilities. Doctors now have a fitting new home with the Chief Medical Director’s two and three-bedroom semidetached units complete with new housing options.
Along with the hospital’s redesign and beautification of the landscape, a calm and serene patient relaxation area was introduced. Additionally, we created internal road networks to promote mobility, harmony, and aesthetics.
“The new centers include a new patient relaxation arena, a new Radiology Complex, a new Laboratory Complex, and new Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&, G), “.
The extensive renovation and modernization of 14 key departments, which have all been revitalized and upgraded to contemporary standards, are equally significant.
“We have provided all necessary Departments with the same amount of cutting-edge medical equipment as these infrastructure improvements. These include cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic tools for general medical care, including radiology, dialysis, surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, physiotherapy, endoscopy, echocardiography, dentistry, and general medical care.
To ensure an environment that adheres to international hygiene standards, safety, and comfort, the hospital has also been furnished with new hospital beds, electronic systems, general furniture, and waste management infrastructure.
The hospital is well-equipped to serve as a true referral point for complex medical cases, a reputable training facility for healthcare professionals, and a hub for medical innovation and research, according to the governor.
