Kate Middleton’s hair accessory is back in stock for party season, and it’s set to give you expensive looking tresses
If there’s one person who can take a simple hair accessory and turn it into the most-wanted item of the season, it’s Princess Kate. Just as party season styling begins to creep into everyone’s thoughts, the Princess of Wales is setting the tone for elegant, achievable glamour, and she’s doing it with a velvet bow from the high street.
Wearing her tumbling tresses in a soft half-up style, Kate fastened back the front sections of her hair with a deep burgundy velvet bow that made the whole hairstyle look straight out of a glossy magazine, festive and, unsurprisingly, incredibly expensive. Except it wasn’t.
The bow in question comes from Jigsaw, a brand well within reach, and it’s the perfect example of how Kate adds elegant detailing to even the simplest outfit formula. Though it’s thought Kate is wearing an older version of this Jigsaw bow, which sold out fast, this new one is the updated offering for 2025. She paired the £25 buy with a matching burgundy coat, keeping everything tonal and autumn-appropriate, but the bow did most of the heavy lifting.

Velvet always brings a touch of luxury, and when you place it against glossy hair, it adds that subtle, plush finish you normally only see in campaign shoots or Christmas adverts.
