What he believed to be the woman who had altered his life reached out to him.

Ore Oduba has revealed that he was duped.

Presenter, consumer journalist and Strictly star Ore Oduba has revealed that he was duped. after being contacted by someone he thought was one of his heroes. Oduba, who once taught people how to avoid scams on BBC show Claimed and Shamed, has shared a tearful admission after believing he had been contacted by life coach and author Mel Robbins.

Oduba, 39, has shared a six-minute video on Instagram saying scammers targeted him after he shared his passion for Robbins, who has 20million followers thanks to her life-changing theories – including the book The Let Them Theory.

The scam came after Oduba had appeared on ITV’s Loose Women and shared his love of Mel Robbins, then took to social media.

He stated, “I reposted that interview, I tagged the Mel Robbins podcast, the Let Me Theory, tagged Mel, tagged everyone who cared, and then I received an email from my agent who forwarded on an email from the Mel Robbins podcast team.” They were aware of who I was, and I could have sobbed. The Mel Robbins podcast team sent me an email.

He continued, “I told Mel everything. how she had altered my life. And I figuratively stated at the end of the email that being who I am is everything. Thank you so much for reaching out.

Oduba cried as he claimed he was then invited to join the top 15 podcasts in the USA, Robbins. He said, “I’m reading this back, and I know what it caused me to feel.” I responded with “Mel, I’m holding back tears,” and I wrote back. Is this true, really? You must have AI assisting you in getting to know all of these fans.

Mel responded, “of course it’s me – it’s Mel Robbins.” So I was left in tears on an Avanti West Coast train from Birmingham to London, thinking that my entire life was about to change. I absolutely lost my s**t.

By the way, I once hosted a show about scammers. I watched enough Watchdog to last a lifetime, but that doesn’t prevent me from getting involved. Never did I believe I would be defrauded.

Oduba became aware that Mel Robbins’ name had been spelled incorrectly and that the email had come from a Gmail address. He was phony when he contacted Mel Robbins PR via her official website.

He stated in an Instagram post, “I’m embarrassed, I’m embarrassed, and I’m human.” I didn’t expect to be defrauded, but this shows it can happen to anyone. particularly with AI’s assistance and manipulation. How quickly I became “hooked” is terrifying. It’s so frightening, and it was SO convincing.

Mel Robbins reads her smash hit book
The Let Them Theory, Mel Robbins’ smash hit, is read.

He continued, “I’ve never made it known how much Mel Robbins, her book, and podcast have aided me through a very difficult time.”

Truth be told, I almost got into trouble with something I so fervently wanted to believe was true for me (sidenote). When I made this video, I realized how frequently we do the same thing in relationships as well.

It’s most likely telling you the truth, so listen to your gut. Don’t be defrauded; it’s not fun.

“I’m so grateful to them for their prompt response and continue to be inspired by and love Mel Robbins. It was too late for me, which is unfortunate.
