Explosive items and ammunition were recovered from a scrap yard in the state’s Kudandan district’s Kaduna South Local Government Area by the Kaduna Police Command.  ,
Police operatives made the discovery in a statement, according to Mansir Hassan, the Public Relations Officer for the Rivers Police Command, following an intelligence report about suspicious items discovered at the scavengers’ company on the outskirts of the Kaduna metropolis.
According to Hassan, the items were reportedly combined with previously transported waste into Kaduna from Borno State. According to Hassan’s statement, a team from the police’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit, led by its commander, was immediately dispatched to the scene.

The items were later found to be military-grade ordnance bombs, according to the police statement, which included an explanation of what had been done.
According to the EOD team, “the UXOs were immediately evacuated to a secure location where they will be safely destroyed in accordance with established safety protocols.”
The additional items that were recovered during the operation included a locally produced revolver pistol that was fully loaded with six rounds of ammunition, 15 rounds of 7. 2mm live ammunition, three live cartridges, and various ammunition.

Muhammad Rabiu, the commissioner of police for Kaduna State, has also mandated the building’s immediate sealing. The EOD unit can do a thorough sweep of the facility thanks to this.
Rabiu praised the Command’s commitment to protecting the public while urging Kaduna State’s residents to provide timely intelligence that can stop threats and improve overall security.
