Police Promote 119 Officers In Rivers, Warn Against Unprofessional Conduct
119 police officers have been promoted to various ranks by the Rivers State Police Command.
The officers were promoted based on their hard work and commitment to the Force over the years, according to the state commissioner of police, Olugbenga Adepoju, who presided over the ceremony in Port Harcourt on Friday.
According to him, the newly promoted officers were determined by the police to be deserving of praise. They should also be remembered that the promotion is a call for them to do more to improve the Police’s reputation because the police motto reads, “Reward of hard work is more work.”
You are aware that you are now responsibilities and that you are working more than ever. There are many things we must do. You must defend the Force’s name. You have to be more serious. The CP remarked, “You have to carry the Police’s image and raise your hands.”

Adepoju warned the officers against negligence, corruption and human rights infringement, adding that the Command will not hesitate in dealing with anyone found wanting.
He praised the Police Service Commission, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Inspector General of Police for their efforts in rebranding the Force for efficient service delivery, and encouraged the officers to engage with public members and support community policing wherever they are.
