One suspect was killed in a robbery attack in the Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, and two others were shot to death as a result.
Three suspected armed robbers reportedly stormed a residential lodge at around 2:15 am on Wednesday, according to a statement from the state police command, Timfon John, who was the spokesman for the state police command.
She continued, “One of the suspects was shot dead, and two others escaped,” citing the suspected robbers’ opening fire when police operatives arrived.
A quick and decisive operation by the command’s operatives halted an armed robbery attempt at the Annex B Estate in Ikot Ator Village, according to John.
The three armed hoodlums immediately opened fire upon the police arrival. In a gunfight between the suspects, which was tactically engaged, the police stopped the robbers.

“One of the armed robbers was spared during the exchange of gunfire, while the other two managed to escape with bullet wounds.”
She added that exhibits were also recovered from the scene and that a resident suffered injuries during the incident and had been hospitalized.

One victim (name withheld), an occupant of the lodge, was shot in the back during the incident by the hoodlums. He is currently receiving treatment and was immediately taken to the hospital for medical care.
John reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of every settler in the state and that arrest efforts are still being made.
