
A shocking alleged murder involving two self-styled native doctors has been discovered by police personnel.
In the Owa-Alidinma community, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, the native doctors are accused of killing their patients and dumping their bodies there.
Isioma Ugbeje, 22, and Liberty Friday, a 20-year-old passenger, were discovered missing after visiting a community shrine for spiritual counseling.
According to reports, Friday had traveled to the herbalist’s residence to get some assistance, and he was taken on his motorcycle by Ugbeje and taken there by himself. Their families raised an alarm and reported the incident to the police when both men failed to return home.
Detectives began an extensive investigation that resulted in the discovery of the victims’ decomposing remains at the shrine after receiving a petition from the Agbor Area Command on October 14, 2025. The premises’ soak-away pit was where the bodies were buried.

According to Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, two suspects, both half-brothers Amechi Okwuokenye (20) and Smart Okwuokenye (26), were detained in connection with the killings.
Amechi was allegedly kidnapped while hid inside a shrine refrigerator, according to Edafe. He admitted to being a kidnapped, demanded a ransom of at least $10 million, and he and his brother had taken Friday and the motorcycle rider to the shrine during interrogation. They allegedly murdered both men and dumped their bodies in a soak-away pit when the plan failed.
He explained that the shrine’s evidence, which included blood stains and ritual objects, suggested that ritual or organ harvesting practices may have contributed to the crime.
The family of Liberty Friday and the wife of the murdered motorcycle rider have also made an appeal for justice.
The suspects would face charges, according to the Command’s official statement, which assured the public that justice would be served and that the suspects would face legal action.
