Obodoagu Wisdom, 18, has been taken into custody by the Enugu State Police Command in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of his second cousin, who is five years old.
One Sunday Michael, a 24-year-old security guard from the Adamawa State Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, was also detained as well.
According to reports of intelligence gathering after ransom demands were reported, operatives from the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad apprehended the suspects on August 11 and 12 2025.

The five-year-old child was first reported missing on July 26, 2025, according to a statement released by the police’s public relations officer, Daniel Ndukwe, on Thursday.
Ndukwe claimed that investigations revealed that the prime suspect allegedly demanded $1 million in cash from the victim’s father in an effort to conceal his identity.
When the ransom was refused, the suspect claimed that he killed the child and laid him in a bush close to their residence in Okinitor, Amankwo Ngwo, Udi LGA.
The suspects gave their confessions during interrogation. The victim’s body was exhumed in front of medical personnel, including a doctor, who later led operatives to the scene, where the prime suspect later led operatives who later led police officers.
