As he is criticized for lowering the value of his tickets and removing copyright from social media, comedian Peter Kay has warned Manchester fans about bus strikes that might affect their ability to see his show.

Peter Kay has issued a warning to fans attending his Manchester show on Friday as planned industrial action threatens to disrupt two-thirds of the city’s bus services.

The 52-year-old comedian, who is still on his Better Late Than Never Again tour that started in December 2022, posted important travel information on social media by tweeting: “Important travel information for those attending Peter Kay’s show in Manchester on Friday.”

Fans were advised to allow extra time for travel and to check their bus routes before heading to the AO Arena, where Kay is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the 23, 000-seat Manchester show are still available for purchase starting at $99.25. Before taking a few weeks off from touring, Kay is scheduled to play in Liverpool on Saturday. The tour will then resume in Nottingham on October 5 and 6, with a performance in Glasgow on October 22.

Fans have expressed disapproval of the comedian’s use of social media to enforce copyrights. According to reports from viewers, clips from his shows have been removed, which has caused a lot of controversy.

One Newcastle visitor wrote on TikTok: “In my opinion, £150 for two tickets wasn’t worth it.” You’re aware that he’s been more effective, men. I laughed about twice in the second half of the evening without laughing. Sorry, Peter, but you should be watching this mate; you must not. That is what I believe to be true.

The same fan later reported that “my video slating Peter Kay in Newcastle has been removed for copyright reasons. Here is a screenshot of the utter waste of £150.

Similar removals have been reported by other attendees. One fan from a Manchester performance last year wrote: “I saw him in Manchester last year and posted a similar picture on IG. Six months later, they took it out of compliance with the copyright. Fans of massive PK, but this tour simply didn’t go anywhere. Very disappointed.

Peter also faced even more criticism from fans who have accused the comic of putting on a below-par performance for his Better Late Than Never tour.

The Bolton-born star, who has been heckled during the sold-out tour, which first began in December 2022, has been slammed by some ticketholders, who say they’ve waited 12 years to see Peter live in action again, only to be presented with ‘recycled’ jokes.

One commentator said the humor in the show was getting “old” and “stale” while making comparisons to an evening at a holiday park in Pontins.

One particular punter on TikTok appeared to have expressed their disdain in reference to Peter singing commercial jingles for confectionary like “a Mars a day helps you work, rest and play” and “a finger of Fudge is just enough.”

Others criticized him for continuing to talk about his deceased nana when I saw him. I’ve been a huge Peter Kay fan ever since he arrived, but I have to agree. This was a terrible show that we saw in Glasgow a few years ago.

Others, however, adore the show and have praised Peter for his sharpwit and insightful perspective on life, which has helped him become one of the country’s most popular comedians.
