After breaking up with Maura Higgins just weeks before her Danny Jones drama, Pete Wicks is reportedly focusing on himself.
The couple eventually managed to survive the alleged “cure” of Strictly Come Dancing when Pete took part in the BBC One show when the 37-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star started dating the Love Island icon in August of last year. However, they parted ways in February, and Maura became embroiled in a relationship with the married McFly singer just weeks later.
On I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, the Irish model and influencer was one of Danny’s campmates in the Australian wilderness. they reunited briefly earlier this month at the BRIT Awards, which was captured on camera the previous year, and they did so again earlier this month. The Sun reported that Danny and Maura kissed while attending an afterparty, but they later left the venue together and met up with them for drinks at the Nobu Hotel in London.
Danny apologized publicly on social media while Maura and his wife Georgia and their seven-year-old son Cooper have kept quiet about the scandal. Danny also pleaded with fans to respect their privacy while he left the drama. Pete was spotted jetting off to Dubai after the illicit kiss clip went viral, and a source told MailOnline that despite being booked in advance of the controversy, the reality star enjoyed being able to escape the drama.
“Pete has left and was completely taken with Maura.” According to the source, “he feels indifferent about the drama that is currently involving her,” adding that Pete is “focusing on himself and enjoying a break in the sun” before returning to the UK for work commitments.
Fans were surprised when Pete appeared to criticize Sam Thompson’s behavior at the BRIT Awards in a recent episode of his podcast Staying Relevant.
