Paul Weller, the Jam’s star, has stated that he won’t be watching Noel Gallagher and Oasis’ return to the big stages after almost 16 years.
Paul Weller has admitted he won’t be joining the hundreds of thousands of fans taking in the epic Oasis reunion tour this summer. Despite The Jam star, 67, being a close pal of Noel Gallagher, he’s revealed he has no intention of watching his eagerly awaited return to the stage with brother Liam and the band.
Explaining his thought process behind his decision, Paul confessed he isn’t a fan of stadium shows and prefers to see bands perform in more intimate venues. He made his point clear during an interview with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2.
The musician, who appears on numerous Oasis tracks, including Champagne Supernova, said: “I’ve not been to see them [Oasis], no… I recently asked Noel, “Are you going to do any warm-ups?” because I’m not a big fan of big gigs. which he wasn’t, but I would attend a smaller venue to see something similar, but I don’t enjoy big performances. Really, who it was is irrelevant.

He continued, “Inevitably, it doesn’t matter unless you’re right in the front row, you just end up watching the screens.” I want to be able to see who is singing or playing, but it kind of spoils things for me.
Paul revealed he is happy for his pal despite having snubbed the shows. He claimed that the reunion was a “big cultural moment.”
You’ve got to be mad, Paul said, “You know how it’s going to go for him, it’s going to be crazy.” I told him that because the number of people I speak to just outside the city, not necessarily those who would ordinarily be fans of Oasis, is going to be significant cultural moments, I believe it will be forever remembered.
There are probably not many bands that compare to [Oasis] at the moment, y’know, guitar music. I don’t recall any, even though I’m not from the UK. Perhaps Fontaines, DC, is unique and people like that. Therefore, I believe that younger audiences were likely to miss out on that 90s experience.
The Oasis Live ’25 Tour started in the UK in Cardiff with shows on July 4 and 5 before heading to the band’s hometown of Manchester for five gigs at Heaton Park between July 11 and 16. Gigs in London, Edinburgh and Dublin will wrap up their UK and Ireland offerings before heading to North America, South Korea, Japan, Australia and South America.
On November 25, the tour will end in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but there have been rumors that 2026 will bring in additional dates. Rome was a location that was cut out of this year’s running.
But this could all change in the coming weeks, it appears. The Rome City Councillor for Major Events suggested last week that there are currently talks to have the band perform in the capital city, Rome.
Oasis in the capital, according to Alessandro Onorato? The financial aspect is crucial because these are live events for businesses that hold events all over the world. Negotiations are taking place. He continued, “He continued to say that Rome had lacked significant opportunities in the past.
He stated that planning a big event in Rome was challenging because it had historically been the “city of missed opportunities.” Onorato has been vocal about wanting Liam and Noel to play in the capital before. He stated in September of last year that Oasis could tour Europe in 2026, just days after the reunion was announced. Yes, we’ve applied to host them in Rome.
