Natalie Cassidy’s dramatic exit has been praised by Patsy Palmer.
Natalie’s departure coincides with the show’s 40th anniversary week. Sonia’s death is unknown, but speculation suggests a dramatic departure for the soap legend, who has worked on the show for three decades. Natalie, who joined the soap at age 10, expressed both sadness and excitement about leaving to pursue new opportunities.
Known for her role as Bianca Jackson in EastEnders, Patsy has paid tribute to her friend as she spoke about their long friendship, recalling their early days together and mentioning Natalie’s growth and achievements.
Sharing a throwback snap of them in wedding dresses, Patsy captioned the post: “Needed to pay my respect to this woman @natcass1. Too many years of dating are too much for me. When I was nine, I began attending The Anna Scher Theatre.
Since Natalie is ten years younger, she probably began at the same time, perhaps ten years later. From day one, she had the cutest shoulders, and she was her biggest protector.
“When we started @bbceastenders we started together. Every morning, Eve’s gorgeous mother would wave her off before taking her to work in Bethnal Green. On our wonderful journey together, we would sing, laugh, and learn lines.
She continued, “I’ve watched her develop into the most fantastic woman over the years and it’s been so brilliantly funny, and now she’s making sure I’m safe and comfortable while I’m here so far away from my family in LA.”
She frequently gives me a lift from work to the hotel, and I’m so grateful to have her on and off the screen as my Sister. Without Anna Schers, we wouldn’t have accomplished the tasks we have, because, regrettably, it’s difficult for girls like us to have molded ourselves into something.
“Natalie has proven to me that she can do it, and I have made that promise repeatedly.” I admire your hard work, your endeavors in business, and your gorgeous family. Here’s to all of you girls that think you won’t make it!! 22 million people tuned in to watch these scenes when we shot them in the early 1990s! so keep dreaming.
