The leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Edwin Clark, is dead.
Clark, 97, died on Monday.
The death of the former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South leader was confirmed by a family representative, Prof. C. C. Clark, on Tuesday.
The statement read,  , “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday, 17th February 2025.

Clark was a powerful advocate for regional and national cohesion. He also had a reputation for promoting harmony among politicians and tense locales in the Niger Delta.
He established a committee to reconcile Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his then-political godfather Nyesom Wike in October.
The committee was headed by former Akwa Ibom Governor Obong Victor Attah, Co-Chairman, Pandef BOT.
Clark’s death comes barely four days after the demise of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group.
Both governors were recognized as being influential in the country’s political development.
The duo and other patriots took part in the Greater Nigeria Conference, which discussed the election of the next South-East African president.
They reaffirmed the calls for the country’s restructuring to achieve a true federal structure in November 2023, along with other eminent leaders of thought.
