Pamela Anderson, the actress who appeared in the Baywatch series, declares she is loving life once more.
Pamela Anderson is relishing her second chance at acting after making peace with her past. Now 57, Pammy – who rose to fame in the early 1990s as Baywatch lifeguard CJ Parker – is living life on her own terms.
And after five marriages, that includes a brief moment of single bliss. She says, “I’m just trying to live this area of my life as authentically as possible.” I believe that I get to do it my way because I was given a second chance. I have to put my faith in someone if they enter my life.
It’s a new era for former Playboy model Pamela, who is loving her acting renaissance after retreating from the spotlight following her sex tape scandal. It saw the private movie she made with then husband, rocker Tommy Lee Jones, stolen and leaked to the in 1995.

The actress described the devastating saga as “I knew I had more to give, but I thought, Oh well, not in this lifetime, I guess” because of what had transpired in both my personal and professional lives. I pondered, “I’ll just do what I have to do to keep the lights on and be with my kids.”
She described how difficult it was to protect her sons Brandon, 29, and Dylan, 27, from the aftermath. When I picked them up from surf camp, Pamella recalled, “I would ask them, Are you Pamela Anderson?” That’s what? Mom, the kids are saying so much about you.
You want to tell your kids appropriate stories, but they always found out before. What could possibly be worse than what happened to their father and I, really?
Moving away from the showbiz world, Pamela now enjoys a quieter life on Vancouver Island. “I wanted to remember who I was, so I went back to where the trees have known me since birth,” explained Pamela.
I literally replanted my garden to see what would grow, and I rewrote my life. I pondered, “I’m going to make pickles and jams here, and I’m totally happy.” It’s actually the beginning of something when you think it’s the end. For me, that is what it was.
A Broadway role as Roxie Hart in musical Chicago brought Pamela back into the spotlight. “That just opened me up again,” she said. Recently starring in acclaimed movie The Last Showgirl, she features in upcoming comedy The Naked Gun alongside Liam Neeson, 73.
She teased me, “it’s going to show a different side of me.” Every movie I watch recently seems to be rehabilitating various aspects of me. And if you want to make these kinds of things interesting, you need a big, messy life to draw from.
Pammy hasn’t had makeup since she returned. She claims that because of her resistance to beauty conventions, she has always been a “rebel.” The actress claims that she is “concerned to ageing” as she poses for red carpets without makeup.
“I think that with AI technology and filters, people are becoming kind of boring-looking,” she explained. “I want to challenge beauty norms. I’ve always been a rebel. I never see somebody and think, ‘I want to look like that.’
“I’m just interested in seeing who I am,” I reply. You have to say, “This is all I have,” at some point. Give in to it. And it’s truly joyful. It’s libertarian to wear no makeup on as you walk on a red carpet. Why can’t I, really? Men consistently do it.
