Palestinians in Gaza celebrate the ceasefire

Following the ceasefire’s implementation in the region’s devastated territory on Sunday morning, celebrations erupted in Gaza.

Due to a dispute between Israel and Hamas regarding the release of the captives under the terms of the agreement, the ceasefire was announced more than two hours later than expected.

Three captives were named earlier on Sunday by Hamas as they planned to release later in the day.
