Dewi Lake, a hooker for Wales, and Mark Jones, the Ospreys head coach, are hoping they can play some rugby during the Six Nations.

Due to a bicep injury, Lake will miss the majority of the tournament, but he is still undergoing rehabilitation in Wales.

The hooker for Wales’ opening away games against France and Italy will undoubtedly miss him, but there is still hope that he will play in the tournament later.

“I have only been in text contact with Dewi and have not spoken to him face-to-face but the words from our physios, who are liaising with the Welsh medics, is he is progressing well”, said Jones.

“They are hoping to put him in a great position where he can play rugby during the Six Nations.”

Given the responsibility for the Six Nations, Lake, 25, skippered Wales on Australia’s summer tour and the autumn series with fellow 2023 World Cup co-captain Jac Morgan.

Additionally, the two recently both signed new Osprey contracts.

” That is huge, “said Jones.

They are both Wales captains, and they are sending the club the message that they want to be here and don the Ospreys shirt.

It indicates that we intend to keep players this way.

The club’s work around that is outstanding, despite the financial market’s current difficulties in keeping hold of your best players.
