One Killed As Suspected Bandits Abduct Couple, Daughter In Katsina

The Sabuwar Unguwa community in the Katsina State region of Kofar Kaura was attacked on Tuesday by suspected bandits.

Residents of the area were in fear after the attackers kidnapped a family man, Malam Anas, along with his wife and daughter around 3:00 a.m. Abdullahi Muhammad, 25, a vigilante member who attempted to intervene, was shot dead.

According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen stormed Anas’ home behind Gidan Rodi Steel Rolling Company and whisked him and his family away. They also reportedly had sophisticated weapons.

They urged the authorities to increase security measures in the area after describing the scene as chaotic.

Before the attack, some residents made the revelation that they had previously observed two suspicious people circling the neighborhood.

They also expressed concern for Katsina State’s growing band of bandits and demanded that all levels of the administration take swift action to stop the menace.

DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the police public relations officer, confirmed the incident by stating that one Anas Ahmadu, 33, of Filin Canada Quarters, Katsina, was the target of a suspected gunman’s assault at their residence.

He confirmed that Abdullahi Muhammad, a vigilante member, was fatally shot before fleeing the scene.

According to Sadiq, police officers under the direction of the Divisional Police Officer arrived quickly in the area, restored calm, and launched an investigation to track down and apprehend the perpetrators.

According to him, the OC Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Area Commander Metro, DPOs within the metropolis, and the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, made an on-the-spot inspection of the area.

He claimed that more resources and resources had been put in place to speed up the attackers’ arrest and the rescue of the victims.
