Olly Murs reveals his wife changed his life after breakdown of relationship with twin

In a time of separation from his twin brother, Olly Murs has credited his wife with changing his life.

The 40-year-old singer, who has been at odds with his sibling Ben since 2009, was single for three years before crossing paths with his now-wife Amelia Tank. The couple, who wed in April 2023, first communicated on Instagram before working out together at the gym. Amelia, who is a bodybuilder, has had a significant influence on Olly’s life.

The former X-Factor actor revealed to The Times how soon he realized Amelia was “the one.” He claimed that “that spark when you fall in love was a load of Disney garbage.” People would talk about that moment and you’d go, ‘ Really? ‘ And when it does happen, it’s not like it is in films, of course. You are aware of that person’s impact on your life and how you react. She’s gorgeous, the love of my life”.

Olly admitted to having a difficult time adjusting to his brother’s relationship after their breakup and admitted to feeling lonely. He said: “I was desperate to be around people, could not sit in a room alone”., reports the Express. “When I was single for three years, I had to learn to like my own company. That’s when I met Amelia”.

Olly’s sibling drama started when he dodged Ben’s wedding – and his best man duties- to appear on the ITV reality show. Ben reacted furiously, claiming that the X Factor had “torn the family apart” and that his sibling had “put fame before him.” Olly confirmed his no-show at the wedding on The Voice, telling Will. i. am: “I was on X Factor and I couldn’t make his wedding because I was on the show”.

Asked where his brother lives, he admitted: “I have no idea”. Olly and Ben previously claimed their relationship had been strained for a while before the ITV talent show, and that she had used the wedding as an “excuse.” Ben’s wedding was not reportedly invited by Olly.

Now that their big day is nearly two years old, Olly and Amelia are proud parents. In April 2024, they welcomed their first child, baby Madison, into the world. Both his little one’s arrival and the challenges that lay ahead surprised Olly. He unwaveringly told the Sun, “She’ll go through things that I didn’t go through.” Even now, thinking about navigating her future is scary”.

As Madison approaches her first birthday, Olly opened up more about fatherhood, sharing the delights and hurdles he’s facing. In an intimate Instagram update, Olly wrote: “2024 will forever be the year I became a dad to our Madison!! Although it’s difficult at times, I’m trying my best, especially the cheeky little dimples, because we can’t wait for more of the same in 2025.

Fans reacted in kind with Olly’s heartfelt admission, with one declaring he was “absolutely smashing it mate” and another urging him to “save every moment” from the other.
