Norris just edges Verstappen in Abu Dhabi practice

Lando Norris and Max Verstappen, who are chasing the title, were at the top of the times during the first Abu Dhabi Grand Prix practice.

Verstappen’s Red Bull was beaten by Norris’ McLaren by a mere 0. 008 seconds, followed by Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes, and Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes.

Before the final race of the season, Norris leads Verstappen by 12 points, and if he finishes on the podium, he will become the first world champion.

If Verstappen wins the race, Norris will be the champion.

If Piastri wants to be the champion, he must overcome his 16-point deficit to become 16 points clear of Norris.

The first session of the Abu Dhabi race is infamously unrepresentative because it begins at twilight and begins with the sun setting as the sun sets and the day goes to dark.
