Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, the legendary clubland DJ, has been revealing his true feelings in a brand-new book after 40 years. Not quite, I suppose. It Ain’t Over Til The Fatboy Sings is more of a coffee table showpiece with at least 1, 000 images than a tell-all memoir.

He says, “Someone might ask, Do you wanna write an autobiography?” I can’t recall the juicy details, so this isn’t going to happen. I can’t really tell them the things I can remember because my kids are still alive, and I was so off my nut at the time.

So I’ve made the decision to create a coffee table visual book with references to my career. It is beneficial for me because it is mostly just pictures and doesn’t go too deep.

No discrepancies in his string of A-list showbiz pals’ “partying until dawn”? He tells The Mirror that none of the events that occurred in our house in the 1990s are contained in the book.

Any photos we do have were taken by people who were just as crazy as we were, making the majority of them blurry of people in stupid clothing.

With personal photos, original artwork, flyers, and posters he’s saved since growing up in Redhill, Surrey, and forming his first band at the age of 15, the book still offers an intoxicating journey, just like Norman’s life.

Celebrating clubland infamy, The Housemartins, and pop stardom with The Housemartins, is everything. The 61-year-old Brimley-born man is about to begin a massive club tour of Australia and Europe and has no plans to turn down the volume. He lives on the seafront in Hove and never swims because “it’s f***ing cold.”

He says, “I’ll keep going until I drop.” He recalls the forced slowdown caused by the pandemic, saying, “It was ugly. I was unable to work for 14 months. I saw retirement as an endless supply of endless lunches and golf. Now that I’ve got my job back, I value it even more.

I have never grown up, to put it simply. The Housemartins, a band known for its No. 1 single “Born Quentin Leo Cook,” were founded in Hull as “Born Quentin Leo Cook” and were bassist. 1980s single Caravan of Love.

He formed the electronic band Beats International after the band split, and his single “Be Good To Me” was #1. However, his alter ego Fatboy Slim won praise from the world with his albums Better Living Trough Chemistry and You’ve Come A Long Way Baby.

However, he was almost derailed by success. And he credits his ex-wife, former Radio 2 star Zoe Ball, with keeping him on the straight and narrow.

Before their 2020 (PA) divorce, the DJ was married to Zoe Ball.

He praises Zoe for her long-lasting support, saying, “I was having too much fun thinking about the next day or the next thing. Being in the middle of a big wave required you to stay on.

You focus on staying put. Zoe helped me through it because she already knew that level of fame, which turned into a whirlwind. We are still human beings, and Zoe is a very kind and thoughtful person. We still treat people with kindness.

The couple’s relationship continues despite their 2020 divorce, thanks to their son Woody, 24, and daughter Nelly, 15. Zoe “made me through the difficult parts,” says Norman. You can’t tell your mates, “I’m having trouble coping with fame,” if you’re out with them. You won’t experience much sympathy.

However, I could say to Zoe, “I’m a little scared. Isn’t this frightening? As we were thrust into the same spotlight, we could discuss it. It was nice to have your soul mate there.

They have remained friends even though they have each lost their mothers, more recently. And they value their unwavering friendship and privacy, which is one of the reasons they haven’t produced a reality show together despite receiving numerous offers.

Norman states, “I would never do a reality show. On the majority of them, like Strictly, I’ve been invited. Do you mind if I’m on Strictly? I’ve been asked to participate in the jungle as well.

Zoe used to love Big Brother when it first appeared. And when a celebrity was involved, we discussed it and determined that nobody would ever see it as the only way to proceed. Because the places we would travel to and what we would do would be utterly abominations. You can’t see it because of that!

“Louis Theroux and I shared the same experience. He and Zoe wanted to do one together, and we simply said, “There are so many warts and you are going to bring out if you interview us.” We simply “shoot ourselves in a lot of feet.”

Norman sees fame today through his son Woody, a fellow DJ who has appeared alongside his mother on Channel 4’s Gogglebox. Norman claims that his children are not nepotistic children because they have grown up around “hardcore showbiz.”

There are two things you are not going to be if you raised with me and Zoe as parents. He claims that one is shy and the other is typical.

“We were going through the most mental of our lives when we had our kids.” Both of them have grown up in showbiz, and I mean real hardcore showbiz.

Have any friends who are not in the film or music industry, Woody said when he was 10? They did not develop in a typical setting.

The couple is still close despite having two kids (zoetheball/Instagram).

“But they have still matured quite wisely. They don’t have that nepotistic outlook or are just completely useless trust fund t*ts or something else. Despite my bias, I’m very proud of how they turned out.

He always knows that I go to Woody’s shows, and I do. I’ll leave Woody with all of my vinyl. Vinyl is my son’s favorite. He devours it, remark Norman.

When he was younger, he objected because he had lived in the shadow of his father. Woody studied drama at Bristol University.

However, after two weeks, Norman received a call and said, “Dad, I’ve started DJing.” He is a very skilled full-time DJ. He doesn’t have any shyness.

“I have to admit that he has added some pizazz to it despite taking my level of showing off.” He did not hurt his ankle when he performed a standing jump over the decks. (Over the pitfalls of fame), he won’t listen. He says, “When you give me advice, it comes from the same mouth that gave me broccoli.”

Norman says that when I first started drinking, I was paralyzed by fear. Every time I went on stage, I was drunk, and I always had a beverage to calm my nerves. The stage fright was the worst. My legs were rigid, and I was unable to dance.

However, playing a gig in Japan changed things. When I played this massive festival, I realized how beautiful the crowd was and what the festival is all about. You don’t need to be a moron to experience this; it’s just love, joy, and sense of community. “

Norman felt “properly excited” despite being sober. You’ve come a long way, baby, according to one of his biggest albums, it’s fair to say!

From March 12th, Rocket 88 will be releasing the pre-order for It Ain’t Over’ Til The Fatboy Sings.
