Due to medical reasons, Olympian Cindy Ngamba will miss her professional debut and will not appear on Friday’s all-female card in London.

Kirstie Bavington and the 26-year-old bronze medalist were scheduled to square off at the Royal Albert Hall in a light-middleweight match.

Ngamba, who was born in Cameroon, became the first refugee Olympic Team member to medal at the 2012 Paris Olympics.

Promoters Boxxer stated that Cindy Ngamba will not make her professional debut on Friday night because a pre-fight medical examination revealed a problem that warrants further investigation.

Cindy will go through additional tests in the coming days, and the safety of fighters is still top of mind.

Boxxer stated to BBC Sport that it would not comment on the nature of the withdrawal.

Early this year, UK-based Ngamba and Boxxer signed a “multi-fight” promotional contract.

World champion welterweight Natasha Jonas and fellow Briton Lauren Price will square off in a fight on Friday’s card.
