The NFL fined the Atlanta Falcons $250, 000 (£187, 000) after Jax Ulbrich, the son of their defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, trolled quarterback Shedeur Sanders during the NFL Draft.

For the incident, which the Falcons claimed involved 21-year-old Jax Ulbrich getting Sanders’ number from an iPad while visiting his parents’ home and writing it down as “later conduct a prank call,” Jeff Ulbrich personally received a fine of $100, 000 (£75, 000) for the incident.

In audio recordings of calls made by purported New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis can be heard in social media video.

Sanders is informed that the Saints will select him as their next pick, but the caller also mentions that he will need to wait a little bit longer.

Jeff Ulbrich was “unaware of the data exposure or any facets of the prank,” according to the Falcons, who apologized to Sanders and Jax Ulbrich.

According to reports, the incident was punished for “failing to prevent the disclosure of confidential information to the club in advance of the NFL Draft.”

In a statement from the Falcons, “We were proactive in addressing the situation internally and cooperated fully with the league throughout the process, and we fully accept the sanctions beingimposed on coach Jeff Ulbrich and the organization.”

“We have confidence in our security procedures and policies, and we will continue to emphasize their adherence with our staff, whether on or off-site.

In addition to the allegations made last week, the Ulbrich family is working with the group to organize community service projects.
