New Look’s ‘gorgeous’ £15 bag looks almost identical to Gucci’s £2,830 version
A “gorgeous” crossbody bag by New Look retails for $2,000 and is very similar to one from a high-end designer label. The high street retailer is well known for its affordable, fashionable clothing, shoes and accessories – and now there’s one product standing apart from the rest.
The Jackie Notte Mini Bag, a collaboration between Gucci and the fashion house, is a black panelled Faux Leather Crossbody Bag. Both bags have the same shape, gold-tone hardware, and a front link design.
A gold chain strap is included with both of them. However, the high street version is made with faux leather and has a zip closure, while Gucci’s is real patent leather and has a hook closure.

While New Look’s bag comes in at £14.99 (currently on sale from £19.99), the Gucci version is priced at £2, 830 online. This means shoppers could save around £2, 815 by opting for the high street alternative.
This black crossbody bag gives finish to a muted look with the color of the season, according to the description for New Look. Panelled from high-shine faux leather, it’s detailed with gold-tone links at the front and fastens with a zip”.
The bag features a high-shine leather look, gold hardware and a crossbody, chain strap. There’s also a fabric lining, an internal slip pocket and top zip.
The bag has racked up rave reviews online, gaining an overall rating of 4.6 stars. Among the positive reviews, one person said: “Love this bag. The gold strap and buckle on the front make it appear expensive, just the right size for an evening out.
A second wrote: “Really good bag getting loads of compliments” and a third shopper added: “Gorgeous Little Bag! Lovely little bag. Beautiful color, exactly what I needed. Perfect for Christmas”.
Another added: “Perfect zip cross body bag! Finally! A gorgeous zip-up bag in burgundy! Perfect size bag to carry your phone, accessories, and a bonus, which has a zip for added security! Very happy”.
However, some shoppers pointed out things they’d like to change about the bag. One user complained that the chain was short and the bag was too small for me.
Another wrote: “Bought this bag in the sale. Did the job but, it does look and feel a bit cheap. So glad I didn’t pay full price”.
Alternatively, there are a range of other styles available at different retailers. For £35, Next sells the Leather Messenger Bag in black or brown, while M&, S sells the Faux Leather Sling Bag in three colors.
