Neighbours’ Alessi twins Gayle and Gillian Blakeney look totally different 30 years later

Christina and Caroline Alessi, the much-loved identical twins from their soap days, now appear completely different.

Gayle and Gillian Blakeney, both 57 years old, first gained notoriety on the Australian soap in the 1990s. Over the years, the twins have had their fair share of dramatic stories, some of which were dramatic and welcomed. Following a murder that had erupted in a tense storyline, the twins were immediately placed under witness protection as they moved to Ramsay Street. They even squandered their identities by pretending to be identical twins.

Before being exposed by local baddie Paul Robinson, Christina and Caroline adopted Linda Giles’ persona. Christina and Paul also engaged in a sea of romances, but Caroline ended up falling for Paul and leaving the neighborhood. In 1992, Gayle and Gillian abruptly quit the Aussie soap. Before permanently leaving acting, they returned for three episodes in 2019.

The sisters formed a band called The Twins after their releases of All Mixed Up, Mad If Ya Don’t, and Wanna Be Your Lover. They made the decision to relocate to California from Down Under. Gayle and Gillian have children and live together in the United States. They gave birth within weeks of each other, and they even had a pregnancy at the same time.

Gayle has a son named Jack, while Gillian has a daughter named Stella, who also has twins. They both have significantly different looks from the days of soap. They both flashed up in black to celebrate their pal’s birthday in a Facebook video that was shared back in 2018. Gayle and Gill chose loose waves and a middle parting, keeping their hair to themselves.

The former actresses chose pink lips and smokey eyes over similar glam makeup. Gillian wrote the caption: “Me and my wombmate” alongside a winky face. Gillian and Gayle appeared on Loose Women as they returned to Neighbours in 2019. They both looked totally different, sporting mid-length haircuts compared to their 90s fringes.

When the sisters returned to Ramsey Street wearing chic shirts and loose waves with dark brunette hair down, another snap captured their attention. Leigh and Luca, a scarf company with a large number of famous customers, is the co-founder of Gilli and Gilli. Mary Kate Olsen and Hilary Duff are fans of Gillian’s garments. In a private ceremony in October 2021, Gayle’s husband Mark led her down the aisle.
