Molly-Mae Hague faces backlash amid rumours of staged Tommy split – ‘It doesn’t add up’
Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury’s shocking split on Love Islanders has raised questions because they have been accused of ending their relationship to further their business concerns.
There have been increasing numbers of instances where the couple have rekindled their relationship since their breakup in August, including photos of them kissing at midnight as they welcomed 2025 together.
The pair, who have a two-year-old daughter, Bambi, both had big business news in the aftermath of their split, with Molly-Mae’s clothing range MaeBe going on sale a fortnight later while Tommy’s autobiography Lightning Can Strike Twice: My Life as a Fury, was released some weeks afterwards. Meanwhile, Molly-Mae opened up about their break-up in her recent Prime Video documentary Molly-Mae: Behind It All.
With rumours swirling that they are back together, a source close to the couple told MailOnline: “If they announced their split, which was presumably sad news for them, to such fanfare, why would they not want to share the happy news with their fans?
You’d think they would want to let the world know that they are back together and that their reputation is intact. It doesn’t add up. “
Tommy informed Men’s Health that he and his partner had a drinking problem and that they had split. He claimed that because I became dependent on alcohol and couldn’t be the person I wanted to be anymore, Molly and I broke up. It kills me to say it,]but] it’s true, I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink, and it is what it is. We all have our crosses to bear in life, and everyone goes through them. I’ve got mine. “
Molly-Mae seemingly agreed with this in her Amazon Prime documentary, Molly-Mae: Behind It All, in which she admits to being” angry… very hurt… and traumatised “by Tommy’s drinking at her sister Zoe’s wedding.
The reality tv star once said, “Alcohol caused problems for us. Alcohol caused it to become so much that I couldn’t look forward to anything.
Last week, Molly-Mae was pressed on her relationship with Tommy during a press junket for her documentary. She insisted:” I actually say in the documentary that I wish it was a publicity stunt because it would have been a lot easier… that, for me, above everything, has been the most frustrating part.
“It has been incredibly difficult to go through this with the turmoil of a breakup.” Because of how difficult it is to read those comments, which I see all of them, and people who say, “This has obviously just been done for the launch of her brand or a publicity stunt,”
Molly-Mae added: “Tommy and I have a baby together and it’s very, very real. We have both endured a lot of hardship over the past six months. Any doubts about that will be answered by this documentary, in my opinion. I believe that the integrity with which we have been will surprise some people.
