Millie Mackintosh recalls terrifying incident as she woke up with person ‘on top of her’
Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea revealed the gruesome incident that caused her to struggle with drinking.
The TV recalled attending a party with her then-boyfriend when she was only 14 years old and returning from boarding school for the weekend. Millie continued to follow the flow despite one of his friends repeatedly refilling her wine glass. She was eager to impress her friends.
She persuaded herself that drinking was okay because it seemed like something a “mature” girlfriend should do, even though she started to feel sluggish. However, the night took a sharp turn when, after dinner, Millie became violently sick and threw up all over the house. She passed out while waiting for her parents to come pick her up from work, which quickly turned into a disaster. The reality tv star claims she woke up with a boy laying on top of her and feeling confused and groggy. Later, she claimed that the person was the one who had been drinking for her all night, not her boyfriend.
Millie claims that when she woke up, she realized her clothes were all messed up. She claimed in a newspaper column that she fought to get him to leave, but despite his crude remarks, she managed to leave the room. She was shocked by the ordeal, which also marked the start of a journey that eventually led her to examine her drinking habits and their effects on her life.
In her column with The Daily Mail, she wrote: “Looking back, I wish I felt I could have confided in my parents. However, when a 14-year-old girl is unable to understand what happened to her, how can she talk about it? The actress also shared details of her alcohol dependency in a different way. “School was also a traumatic experience”, she said. “And so began the cycle of instant gratification via boys and alcohol,” Marilyn continued. The only way to fit in with the well-known crew was by pretending to be fine with their savagery and, of course, partying, which meant going out drinking alcohol every weekend.
Millie acknowledges that she looks back and is “gutted” that young women raised believing they were in their “Sex And The City” era despite her issues. The reality TV star, who wed in July 2018, has fallen in love with her former co-star Hugo Taylor, who she married in July 2018. The couple has two daughters.
Millie has been open about her struggles with mental health, particularly since becoming a mother. She has discussed how stress and anxiety can be experienced in a work-life balance with a family life, highlighting the value of self-care and seeking assistance as needed.
