After spitting at Leeds United fans in October, Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri received a four-game ban and a £15,000 fine.
Mejbri, 22, has already acknowledged the Football Association’s “conduct” charge and will not play until his team’s December 30 premier league home game against Newcastle United.
The incident occurred on October 18 when Leeds beat Burnley 2-0.
A Leeds fan complained in the away section of the ground, and Lancashire Police took the matter seriously.
An FA statement stated that Mejbri’s punishment was alleged to have violated the rules of the game, acted improperly, and/or abused and/or indecently by spitting at or in the direction of Leeds United supporters in the 67th minute.
Mejbri has scored one goal in 50 appearances for Burnley overall.
The Tunisian international signed for Manchester United in a potential £9 million deal in August 2024.
This month, he will miss his team’s four league games against Everton, Fulham, Bournemouth, and Newcastle.
