There were high hopes that Prince Harry and King Charles’ family’s conflict would end when they convened for peace talks last month, but there is still a long way to go.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly divided over a potential truce with the Royal Family. The controversial couple left ‘The Firm’ gobsmacked when they ditched their royal duties in 2020 and hot-footed it to America.

They then shared their story with Oprah, Netflix and also in Prince Harry’s damning book, Spare. However, when the dad-of-two, 40, met his father, King Charles, 76, last month for peace talks, there were high hopes a reconciliation may be on the cards.

Sources now claim the monarch is pushing for a “pre-nup style” agreement to shore up any future relationship between the Sussexes and the Palace. However, Meghan, 44, is said to be “less forthcoming” over the arrangement.

A source told Closer that the Palace was “pushing for a formal contract.” There would be a set of official rules governing what information is kept secret and when and how the Sussexes can attend events. Any royal dramas should be stopped, in essence.

Meghan has been less forthcoming, they continued, adding that Meghan is said to have offered Harry a “degree of transparency.” Meghan may be less lenient than Harry, but Harry might. If their needs are not met, she is unwavering about her refusal to participate in royal negotiations.

The Suits actress, whose second season of With Love, Meghan premieres on Netflix today, is said to have “floated around” security guarantee visits with her husband in the UK in an effort to mend their relationship with the Palace.

These demands, which the Royal Family reportedly has to deal with, reportedly irk the Palace.

After speaking with chat show legend Oprah Winfrey and streaming company Netflix, the source claims that the royals are still “struggling trust the couple” and are “struggling to trust them.

Adding to the tension, it’s been alleged that Prince William and Kate Middleton are reluctant to reunite with Meghan and Harry after the Spare star met with King Charles.

The source asserts that “William and Kate haven’t been involved in that process,” which is interesting. There is still a lot of harm there.

It comes after Harry admitted he would ‘love a reconciliation’ with his family in a BBC interview earlier this year, in which he conceded that “There is no point fighting any more, life is precious.”

However, it seems like a long way to go before both sides are content because Meghan and Harry are said to only want a deal “if it meets their needs” and the Palace is said to want any future relationships with the couple to be on “their terms.”

Meghan and Harry’s representatives and Buckingham Palace have been contacted by The Mirror for comment on this story.
