Tom Fletcher’s son Buzz sems to be following in his father’s famous footsteps after he wowed the crowd after performing a duet with his dad on stage for Children In Need

Tom Fletcher’s young son left people sobbing on Friday night. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and judging by the duet performed by McFly star Tom and his 11-year-old son Buzz, the old adage couldn’t be more accurate. The performance left fans in utter disbelief and emotional, as Buzz showed off his powerful vocal ability as he stood side by side with his father in front of a live audience for Children in Need.

The emotional performance, which left some fans crying, was alongside the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and the charity raised an astonishing £45million.

The song was written by Tom, who was the frontman of his pop group. And it was directly for Pudsey and the Thread Of Hope, which is an animation for CBeebies, next month.

Revealing his pride for his dad, Buzz told the studio audience: “It’s absolutely incredible. I mean I’ve seen him do what he does on stage with McFly and I’ve always wanted to follow in his footsteps but I mean Children In Need, it’s incredible.”‘

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans struggled to contain their excitement and rushed to the social media platform to express their joy. One emotional fan wrote: “Sobbing at Tom Fletcher and his kid on Children In Need, so cute please.”

Another said: “I am sobbing over Tom Fletcher and his son performing on Children In Need.”

A third person added: “Tom and Buzz Fletcher singing together on Children in Need!! That was everything and more, I’m in bits.”

Tom, 40, shares three sons with wife and podcast host Giovanna Fletcher and includes Buddy, eight and Max, six. But it looks as though Buzz’s talent is already being nurtured, as Tom recently revealed earlier this year that his son had landed a role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, Starlight Express.

Other celebrities to take part in this year’s fundraiser were presenter Sara Cox, who raised an eye-watering £9million after completing a 135-mile marathon for Children In Need.

The challenge was over five gruelling days, and it has been hailed as Radio 2’s longest Children In Need challenge.

In response to finding out how much she raised, she said: “A massive thank you, I could not have done it without you, there’s a lot of bad things going on in the world, but Children In Need reminds you there is more good.”

And Prince William took time out of his schedule to congratulate the Radio 2 host in the midst of her challenge. He said: “Sara, massive congratulations for what you’re doing. You’re so nearly there, just a little bit further, and I know the people of Pudsey will all come out and welcome you with huge open arms, big hugs, and hopefully, lots of your favourite crumpets. Keep going, you’ve done fantastically well, and the nation’s so proud of you.”
