Maura Higgins speaks out on Pete Wicks reunion in telling confession

Maura Higgins has confessed to Pete Wicks that she wants to reunite with her after her time in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

Prior to this weekend’s final, the former TOWIE man was learning how to move on the Strictly dance floor while the Irish former Love Islander was staying at camp Down Under. Now, Maura has admitted she “misses” her fellow reality TV star.

However, she giggled as she tried to tone down the admission. After her jungle exit, Alison Hammond immediately emailed her about the potential budding romance.

The reality star joked, “It didn’t take it long to ask you that question, did it?” after Alison’s question about Pete.

She went on: “Do you know what, you forget about the cameras, I do like to keep things private. I said I miss him, I do miss him..”. She then giggled as she added: “Like I miss all my friends and family”.

Before committing to a romance, Maura admitted to being a close friend of Pete for five years in the I’m A Celeb camp. It came as speculation continued to grow around the pair’s coupling. Maura had been asked by O’Mabuse what had changed so she could accept the reality TV star’s advances. She simply responded: “He wouldn’t give up”, before she revealed she took a group of friends with her on the pair’s first date.

She continued to tell Oti, “I actually brought my friends with me and I was like, “See it’s a friendship date. ” The pair continued on a date after spending a raunchy night out with her mates by sharing oysters and wine. Prior to her jungle experience, they were later sitting together while kissing at the Pride of Britain Awards in October.

After leaving the jungle, Maura had left a kind message for Pete. He was still competing for a spot in the BBC dance competition at the time. She shared on Instagram a post saying: “Go on @pete_Wicks01!! Let’s get them to the final”. She then posted a link to “Vote Powita” asking her followers to vote for him and his partner Jowita Przystal.

Pete has also indicated that he is ready to settle down, even though the pair have yet to officially declare their relationship. Pete claimed that he had previously struggled to maintain long-term relationships when he spoke with Olivia Attwood on her Staying Relevant podcast. Explaining his current feelings, Pete revealed: “I do feel like I’m now at a different stage of my life. I’m a complete p***k and an older man than I was when I was younger.
