Maura Higgins belted out a Whitney Houston song about ‘broken hearts’ on a Valentine’s weekend night out following her reported split from Pete Wicks.
The 34-year-old I’m A Celebrity and Love Island star was heard singing along to Whitney’s tune ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’ at a Queen of the Night tribute to the late singer at what looked like a theatre in London. She also posted clips of a singer performing the classic hit ‘I Will Always Love You’, calling it ‘magical’.
Tagging her celebrity hairdresser pal Carl Bembridge, Maura appeared to be putting any heartbreak behind her as she thanked ‘bestie’ Carl “for an incredible night”. In another short clip, she zoomed in on a photographer waiting outside the theatre to try and take her photo and said over the top: “Ah the pap missed me, aw boo hoo for you.”
It was reported that Maura and Pete had split on Valentine’s Day after a series of fiery rows, which had led to them realising they were “better off as friends”. Though Maura has hinted that 37-year-old Strictly and TOWIE star Pete did the dirty on her. When asked by a photographer where Pete was on Friday night, she reportedly said: “Dunno, probably cheating.”

Whatever went down, the Irish TV star and model made sure to show Pete what he was missing as she posted a pic of herself looking a Valentine’s vision in a red strapless mini dress to Instagram as she clutched a huge bouquet of red roses.
In another snap, she revealed the roses were ‘To Me, Love Me.’ And far from sitting at home moping, Maura enjoyed a night out on the town with her pals and dinner at Sheesh restaurant in Piccadilly, which is popular with celebs.
Though Maura and Pete never went official with their romance, fans were rooting for them to get together properly. The pair, who have known each other six years, were said to have been in an on/off relationship for a few months – with Pete even spending some time in Maura’s native Ireland over Christmas. The pair were spotted at a luxury spa hotel together over the festive season.

But two months on and it all looks to be over for the couple, before it even really began. A source told MailOnline: “Maura and Pete have decided to call off their romance. There have been a few clashes, and it was eventually agreed they were better off as friends. Those closest to them know it’s been a very on and off relationship, which is why they were so resistant to go public in the first place. They remain close and share a deep connection.” However, the pal added that the attraction between Maura and Pete “is so strong, you wouldn’t rule out reunion at some point – even in the short term.”
Appearing on Loose Women a few weeks ago, Maura blushed when she asked about her and Pete’s romance when told they looked a ‘lovely couple’. Remaining coy, she replied: ‘”Do we? I never really thought about it. He’s got better hair than me to be fair! There’s not really much to tell, I know that’s very boring, we’ve known each other for what, six years? We spend time together, we get on very well, our personalities are very very similar and he’s a great person but there’s actually nothing to tell. There’s really not though, no one believes me, there’s not!”
Pete has also spoken publicly about Maura. During a podcast chat with Celebs Go Dating relationship expert Paul C Brunson on his show, Need To Talk, Pete shared: “We have the same sense of humour, she is super intelligent and I think you know that is sometimes something people don’t realise about Maura. She is incredibly witty and we have always been there for each other for kind of the past six years at a distance where we have always been friends. We have always kind of been there for each other and whatever else.”
Both have had high profile romances in the past. Pete has dated his TOWIE co-stars Megan McKenna, Shelby Tribble and Chloe Sims. While Maura had relationships with Love Island stars Curtis Pritchard and Chris Taylor. She has also dated Strictly dancer Giovanni Pernice and was in a 10-month relationship with stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton, who she split from in March 2024.
