Bryan Mbeumo, a Brentford striker, has received an improved bid of more than £60 million from Manchester United.

The 25-year-old’s bid for £45 million plus up to £10 million in add-ons was rejected this month by United.

This week is expected to see the continuation of discussions regarding the Cameroon international’s potential second signing of the summer.

Before they return to pre-season training on July 7th, United are eager to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad after signing Matheus Cunha for £62.5 million from Wolves.

There has also been interest in the forward from other Champions League clubs, with Thomas Frank, who recently took over as manager of Tottenham, wanting to be reunited with Mbeumo.

As with Cunha, Mbeumo’s Premier League experience is viewed as a major plus because Amorim needs players who can launch the season with a more positive start than their three slow outings under Erik ten Hag.

Mbeumo helped the Bees get their 20 goals, which was his career-high, last season.

Because of Cameroon’s participation in the Morocco-Africa Cup of Nations, Mbeumo, an international partner of United goalkeeper Andre Onana, is likely to miss four weeks of the campaign for 2025-26.

On December 24th, Cameroon take on Gabon in their opening group game.

After posting an image of himself wearing an Aston Villa shirt with the name “Rashford” on his social media channels, Alejandro Garnacho’s future is once more the subject of heated debate with his new move.
