A legendary musician made a shock appearance at a Brighton open mic night to show off his new album for the first time in four years.
Unexpected surprises came when a well-known musician took to the stage at an open mic night in Brighton. The Neptune Inn, a well-known haven for live music, was hosting the event at Hove’s Victoria Terrace, a traditional old boozer.
A bone fide guitar hero made his way to the front, and the crowd was shocked. After “crashing” his daughter Romany Gilmour’s performance, Pink Floyd legend David Gilmour made an unexpected appearance.
Father and daughter performed a few Pink Floyd songs, including Breathe (In the Air), Time (In The Air), and Breathe (Reprise) together. The long-standing venue’s audience was also stunned to hear The Dark Side of the Moon songs performed there last year, with David later revealing the performance was part of a warm-up tour ahead of his UK tour. After finishing tour rehearsals, he wrote, “Very much enjoyed crashing @GilmourRomany’s gig at Neptune in Hove this evening.”

Fans were appreciative of the performance and incredibly envious of those who were present at the event. One person wrote, “I opted to stay in and watch c**p on television, 50 yards from my house.” FFS”.
Another remarked, “I adore the Neptune!” Although a little cramped, “every night is a good night.” Imagine just sitting in a neighborhood pub or bar and going Gilmore, according to another author. Such a cool invention. Romanian voice is so amazing. I really enjoy this.
One person praised Gilmour for taking time off of rehearsals to perform at the pub, calling him “a true musician! Willing to play a tiny pub and stadiums! “Brilliant” !
The open mic night marked Gilmour’s first live performance since May 2020. He is not the first British artist to shock onlookers with a surprise appearance; earlier this year, Ed Sheeran gave an impromptu subway performance in New York
A video posted on X (formerly Twitter) quickly gained attention, showing Ed disguised in a black hoodie, large sunglasses, and a wig that completely hid his famous red hair. His “emo” look was completed with black cargo pants and a grey beanie.
