Maltreatment: Passenger Arrives In Lagos, NCAA Summons Kenya Airways Manager

The woman in question has arrived in Nigeria following a verbal altercation between Kenya Airways staff at the transfer desk and an Omisore-identified Nigerian passenger.

After safely boarding a Kenyan Airways flight to Lagos, Omisore has since received widespread condemnation for the incident that was captured on a viral video.

The acting station manager for Kenya Airways is the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Omisore expressed her anger over the abuse she and other Nigerians were receiving from the airline personnel in a video posted by Tunde Moshood, the Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo on Monday.

The altercation was said to have occurred while Omisore was in Nairobi, Kenya, preparing for a connecting flight.

According to Moshood, “Our attention has been drawn to several instances of inhuman treatment of Nigerian passengers by @KenyaAirways in Nairobi.”

“A case of Ms. Omisore G. who flew from Manchester to Lagos, connecting-Man-CDG-NBO-LOS, only to be denied boarding in Nairobi on the 2nd leg of same ticket”.

However, Kenya Airways responded to Moshood via X, claiming that the passenger was denied boarding because it was discovered that she lacked a Schengen visa, which is required to enter any member state of the European Union.

The airline noted that it offered an alternative route from London to Manchester, which Omisore declined, leading to a verbal altercation.

“We strongly condemn such conduct. We expect all interactions to be based on reciprocity, despite our commitment to providing exceptional service. Our employees are entitled to a safe, honorable environment at work, and the airline says it will not tolerate any abuse from visitors or employees.

The video, according to the statement, did not fully capture the circumstances surrounding the incident, alleging that Omisore later allegedly acted inappropriately by hurling sanitary pads at the airline staff.

Kenya Airways added that Omisore requested accommodations after being denied boarding, but that it does not offer accommodations for visa-related issues.

It stated that the incident had been reported and that the relevant security organizations were looking into it.

The incident has been reported and is being looked into by the relevant security authorities. According to Kenya Airways, “we are committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure the well-being and safety of our employees and guests at all times.”

However, it was reported that the victim safely jumped on a flight from Kenyan Airways to Lagos, Nigeria.

The “History Of Mistreatment”

Also weighing in on the matter, the NCAA&nbsp, said Kenya Airways allegedly has a history of mistreating Nigerians, including the agency’s staff.

The acting station manager of Kenya Airways in Lagos has been invited to a mandatory meeting today to review the incident and address the concerns raised by the authority, according to Michael Achimugu, the director of public affairs for the NCAA.

He stated that Kenya Airways will be asked to provide CCTV footage to back up its allegation that Omisore threw the sanitary pads at its employees.

The passenger was informed by me that unruly behavior can be tolerated at any airport, and she could face fines and blacklisting. The NCAA does not condone unruly behaviour”, the director said.

“Attempting to forcefully delete her video is not supported. If she was denied entry due to visa requirements, you should not have allowed her to board your flight from Nigeria. You let her leave Lagos and gave her boarding passes. She flew on the same route into Nigeria using your airline.

She claims to have called the airline before making the purchase, and that because she has a BRP, she was informed of her qualification.

“Your staff made statements that were inappropriate for someone in the industry,” your staff said. Call your president, “insinuates a lot.

You will be asked to provide CCTV footage showing that she used sanitary towels to throw them at your staff rather than place them on a table when they asked to provide evidence that she was bleeding.
