Makinde Approves Prince Owoade As New Alaafin
After nearly three years of controversy and litigation, a new Alaafin has been approved by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Prince Dotun Oyelade, the state commissioner for information and orientation, made a statement on Friday that made this clear.
He claimed that the Oyomesi and the governor of Oyo State had recommended Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade after thorough consultations and divinations.

The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon., has issued a statement to this effect, according to the commissioner. All the socio-legal tussles that have broken out since His Imperial Majesty’s death, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, died on April 22, 2022, were finally resolved by the announcement, according to Ademola Ojo.
Ojo demanded that Oyo State’s citizens support the new Alaafin of Oyo and join the government in celebrating this significant occasion.
