Gabby Allen, the winner of the Love Island: All Stars, is still feeling good after winning the ITV series, but her victory comes after painful personal heartache.

The 33-year-old reality star first gained notoriety in 2017 when she competed in ITV’s Love Island’s third season, finishing fourth behind Marcel Somerville, 39, in the same category. After winning the show and winning the £50, 000 prize, Gabby and Casey O’Gorman, 28, returned to the villa earlier this year.

However, Gabby was left devastated more than ten years ago when her father, Mike, passed away when she was just 21 years old. She has since revealed her heartbreaking loss to the Mirror about his death, which has long been a secret.

She stated, “We lost everything when Dad passed away, not just him.” The home, the business. Domino effect was created by it. Gabby described his health problems as the “worst thing you can get” and his father had a brain tumor. He was gone within ten months of receiving his diagnosis.

Casey O’Gorman and Gabby won the second season of Love Island: All Stars on ITV/REX/Shutterstock last month.

According to Gabby, “it was 10 months of someone essentially losing their mind and deteriorating in front of you,” making the mental deterioration that followed made it worse. Gabby believes her mother and younger brother kept her safe during the darkest times because she was away studying drama at the time. She reveals that she “always felt guilty that I wasn’t there at the time.” However, his passing marked the family’s financial and emotional nightmare.

His business left him in a sizable debt, and because he didn’t, his mother was left with debts she didn’t even realize existed. However, she explains that Mum was the guarantee for everything. She didn’t realize what was happening until it was too late. She had to declare bankruptcy. She also lost her own company. It was “absolutely awful”.

In the years that followed, Gabby found herself juggling several jobs to stay afloat. I was attempting to have a little bit of freedom while teaching fitness classes and assisting my mother. Then, at age 25, Love Island called, changing everything for her. I never anticipated a life-changing performance from a show. I anticipated going on it for a week, coming out alone or with someone, possibly having a few more PT clients, or being more in demand… but the opportunities and freedom that came with it gave us so much more.

If I won, people questioned what I would do with the money I’d earned from Love Island. After a few years of absolute hell, I just wanted to give my mother some rest and a good night’s sleep. I don’t know what our future would have looked like if I hadn’t visited Love Island.

Gabby has clarity now greater than ever when she leaves the villa for a second time. I have the highest level of education and strength. She confidently says, “I am exactly who I am now.” She is also aware that some people have distorted perceptions of reality TV personalities. People have a notion of Love Island’s typical person. I didn’t mean to say that my life was difficult; instead, I had a fantastic childhood. Then it was all taken away. Just before I started the show, that period of my life changed who I am.

Gabby’s main focus is currently on her fitness empire. Her wellness program, Shape Up, has grown to include a full-fledged online community. She explains that I’m assisting thousands of women in a 360-degree wellness program. Gabby has transformed Shape Up into a thriving brand since launching it in 2020. In the platform’s history, our launch day was the biggest ever, accompanied by my new Island Body Program. My mind was blown! She claims that she used the program when I was in the best shape of my life before returning to the villa.

It is not stalling either. I hope everyone will enjoy my story because it will demonstrate that having a disability at some point in my life and working as a fitness expert will help you do it. I want to transform the lives of so many more people, like “Gabby adds” does. I want to hold more retreats, broaden my focus on nutrition and mindfulness, and foster a supportive environment for women. Part of that is through community and a journey of connecting with like-minded individuals.
