A former Love Island star has confirmed he is to become a dad for the first time. Eight years after finding fame on the hit ITV dating show, Jonny Mitchell is ready to enter a new phase in his life.
The series three islander took to Instagram to share the exciting news with his followers in a sweet upload. He revealed he and partner SImone Engelhardt were to become parents, admitting it was getting tough to keep their news a secret.
She’s getting too big to keep this a secret for very long, he captioned his upload. I’m going to be a father, Bella Ramsey would say.
The reality TV star continued, “I don’t post much personal stuff on here, but I’ll make an exception for this.” Anyone who has met me well will be aware that I never a huge fan of the concept of children.
You don’t really feel it until you meet the woman in your life who you know will be a wonderful mother, I believe. Which will @engelhardtlund be, according to my knowledge. Therefore, I can safely say that I’ve accepted the idea.
It’s difficult to imagine where we were even five years ago, where we are now, because life has been an endless rollercoaster of unexpected twists and turns over the past ten years.
“And it appears as though the upcoming chapter is on time!” Let’s hope I can figure out this whole Dad thing when my baby Mitchell arrives at the end of the year.
Jonny is seen gleeful as he caresses his partner’s stomach as she cradles her bump in the photos. The couple enjoyed date nights out and trips on vacation together, according to the image reel.
Among those sending congratulatory messages were fellow Love Island alum. Adam Collard simply wrote: “Congrats mate,” alongside a clapping hands emoji.
Marcel Somerville wrote, “Ohhhh My Days! “, expressing his joy and surprise. It is taking place. My bro, congratulations! I’m so happy for you, guys.
Rykard Jenkins said: “Congratulations and blessings to you both,” while Geordie Shore star James Tindale also penned: ‘Get in mate buzzing for you both! Congratulations.”
Jonny and Simone reside in Bali after making the move in 2020. And the reality star previously said that helping dogs on the island was a “sense of duty”. He said: “One of the biggest most unexpected changes I’ve seen in myself is my new overwhelming sense of duty towards helping dogs on this tiny little island.
And how I feel about helping more dogs in need, which is one of my higher goals in life. Although I’ve lived out here since moving to Bali, it doesn’t excuse some of the ways they treat animals with respect to their rights.
