Love Island star Shakira Khan said she has had to reassure her grandma she is alive after becoming the target of a cruel hoax online.
The 22-year-old TV personality addressed rumours that she was dead and said she was completely baffled. In a video on TikTok, Shakira asked: “Guys… why is everyone saying that I’m dead? Why is everyone saying that I’m dead, omg.”
Then Shakira stated in a more serious way that her gran had grown very worried about her because she was told by her gran that she was still alive. She continued, “No, because my nan sent me a video of someone saying I’m dead,” which is actually not funny.

What am I supposed to say to that, grandma, realistically? You and I will have words, regardless of who is spreading those false rumors. The TV actress claimed to have seen a fake AI montage of her.

Brunson’s podcast We Need To Talk, Shakira offered an unflinching look behind the glossy TV edits of Love Island as she shared her experiences of being judged because of her skin colour.
She insisted that there was a divide, but people couldn’t sit there and say there wasn’t one. That was my lived experience, and my friends will agree with me as much as they want to.
Megan Moore and Helena Ford’s domestic partners only added to the division between the various girl groups, and Shakira has not shied away from criticizing their earlier claims that there wasn’t a divide between the opposing cliques.
