When Lorraine Kelly learned that the episodes of her eponymous daytime TV show would be reduced due to ITV cuts, she wasn’t surprised.

Lorraine Kelly has admitted that she wasn’t surprised when she was told that her eponymous daytime show would be reduced from next year. The TV legend, 66, has been a regular face on ITV for several decades now but as of January 2026, her programme will be slashed to just 30 weeks a year, along with Loose Women, and will also be aired for just thirty minutes instead of a whole hour.

The star has now argued that while it “wasn’t her decision,” it’s still “just a sign of the times” and that a number of her team members are still employed by the broadcaster.

Asked if it came as a shock to her, she said: “Not really. I mean, it’s kind of indicative of the whole industry, really. I’m just glad that we’re still there. We’ve still managed to save some jobs. A lot of my team are going to This Morning. And so yeah, it’s not my decision. It wasn’t a decision that I made.”

In the end, the former GMTV presenter is pleased to still be able to host the program, where she frequently interviews her favorite celebrities, and reassured viewers that her regulars will continue to host with her.

“I just feel fortunate that I can continue to do what I love to do. What could possibly not be loved, really? This morning, we are. I’m incredibly proud of Brian Cox. My heroes include both the actor and astrophysicist, both Brian Coxes, the two.

It’s a privilege to talk to people like that, I suppose. It’s amazing to watch Jamie Oliver cook something and then eat it, you know. And you’re aware that all of our regulars, including Dr. Hilary, Dr. Amir, Mark Hayes, and Ross King, will still be present next year, just like we’ve known them.

“So I’m happy that we’re going to stay there.” It will be unique. You don’t know what, though? I’ve gone through a lot of regime change. It’s just another one, then. Another one, just now. It’s fine, really. We’ll still be there, and it’ll still be a lot of fun, and I still really, really, really enjoy it. I therefore consider myself fortunate.

Lorraine still has an awful lot coming up, including a Christmas special of her daytime chat show, and early next year she will be guest hosting on BBC Radio Two and will be seen heading to Norway as part of a new documentary. But above all, Lorraine insisted that life will continue to revolve around her Billie, who was born to her daughter Rosie in August 2024.

She continued, “For my New Year’s Resolution, I always say I’m going to look after myself more and I’m going for facials and and get my feet done and you know and all of that sort of stuff.” And I never choose to do it. You’re all too busy, I promise, and to be honest with you, it’s all very nice to have all these things, but Billie’s the main thing is.”

Lorraine and her daughter, who also host the What If? podcast together, have now teamed up with EE to share a glimpse into their Christmas plans, and they both spoke of how grateful they are to have the technology to communicate, especially around the festive season, especially as new research has found that over three quarters of Brits tend to have more than one Christmas to fit in.

“A lot of our Christmas Day is actually going to be spent calling and making incredible video calls to people who live far away, like Graham, my brother, who lives in Singapore,” said Lorraine. We’re not that concerned about our relationship right now, isn’t she? My mother, Rosie’s grandmother, Billie’s great grandmother.

We have a lower priority order than you. The great granddaughter is the focus! Additionally, she wants to visit her. When do you require internet access? When do you require Wi-Fi? so that you can accomplish everything. You’ve got to talk to and see your relatives, right?

Rosie Smith and Lorraine Kelly have collaborated with EE to reveal their Christmas plans and how they are utilizing the company’s broadband and mobile network. According to new research, Brits are getting ready for up to three Christmas Days this year, with families visiting everyone they love from different homes.
