More than 20 years ago, Judi Love was diagnosed with endometriosis, and she has since come out about it. The Loose Women star said in an exclusive interview that the suffering associated with the condition has occasionally been “unbearable” both physically and mentally.

Explaining that getting a diagnosis wasn’t an easy feat, Judi shared: “It took me about five years to get a diagnosis, and the average time is even longer – as long as nine years. For women, our pain is often not always taken seriously, so symptoms are just put down to having ‘ bad periods’. At the time, it wasn’t spoken about much, so when I received my diagnosis I honestly didn’t really know what it was, but the effect on my life, my physical and mental health, was sometimes unbearable”.

She continued, “I think it’s crucial that people start having more open discussions about endometriosis and the possible effects, as well as pushing for diagnoses, because it’s difficult to get that pain recognized or acknowledged.”

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to that found in the womb’s lining, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, grows elsewhere, and it can have a significant impact on a person’s life.

Judi uses the new year as a chance to prioritize her well-being because she is passionate about tackling health stigma. She explained: “I like to be active, I really enjoy boxing – it makes me feel good. One of my main tenets is that “health is wealth”; this is what I keep in mind when setting goals. It’s really worthwhile to devote some time to being active. My plan is to keep practicing those habits for the rest of 2025 because it is a habit I keep working around my schedule.

Judi claims that she has become more mindful of her eating and drinking habits since she was in her forties. The mother-of-two has also launched a new campaign this year by collaborating with Pink Lady Apples. She goes on to say, “The campaign is all about fear of being judged at lunchtime. I’m so excited to be working with Pink Lady apples.” According to new research, 81% of office workers admit they wouldn’t eat the same foods at work that they enjoy at home, because they fear being judged by coworkers. You do you, which is how I try to live my life, is the campaign’s message!
