Lisa Riley, who is best known for playing Mandy Dingle on the popular ITV soap, has revealed that she has a “left arm” for one career and is proud of it.
Lisa Riley has revealed a dream career outside of Emmerdale that she would give her “left arm” to have, admitting she would “love to” take on the role. Speaking on a recent episode of the Celebrity Side Hustles podcast, Lisa, best known as Mandy Dingle in the long-running ITV soap, opened up about her ambitious nature, noting that in her profession, “you never know.”
Lisa, who’s currently in the I’m A Celeb jungle alongside such names as Jack Osbourne, Ruby Wax and Martin Kemp, has also appeared on the Strictly dancefloor and hosted You’ve Been Framed!
First appearing in Emmerdale in the 1990s (making a return to the soap in 2019), the 49-year-old explained how, “as actors”, you’re “only as good as your last episode”, as she shared her goals for the next five to 10 years.
Yes, Lisa said, “You know, as actors, you never know. Your previous episode was your best, so you’re only as good. You are unsure of what will happen next. I’m still very ambitious.
She continued, “I am. I believe that is the source of all of my blood; it’s who I am. I hope my energy and vigor are still as strong and vibrant as ever. I’m hoping so.
Producing Saturday night television is something I would love to do with my left arm. That’s not yet my style! I’d really like to. Yes, I’d really like to work on the production team and the ideas team.
She was then asked if she’d taken on this role before, leading Lisa to chat about a time when she “produced a musical”, which she says involved Kevin Kennedy and was “really successful”.
It follows reports that Lisa “saved the day” in a recent instalment of I’m A Celeb when Loose Women’s Kelly Brook encountered a surprise visitor while she was brushing her teeth.
